Coat
The skin should be pink with black colored
mottling that arises through the white coat.
The impression of pale blue glass is seen
when you see this dog. The orange spots of the ears are so
attractive to this breed.
Overview
Porcelaine dog is thought to have originated
from France and many consider that this dog
is from a region of France that is bordering the Switzerland.
This is the oldest of the French
Scenthounds. Since it resembles porcelain statuette,
this name has been given.
Character
These dogs are fierce runners. They hunt
even without the orders from the owner but are nice to handle.
These animals are adaptable to different environment easily
and have a musical voice and are excellent companions in the
houses.
Due to the affectionate companionship, these
dogs are more preferred in many countries.
Temperament
They are highly obedient but at the same
time, needs extensive exercise and understand the commands
given by the pet owner.
The hunting activities are liked by many
persons and are not recommended in places like apartments,
since due exercises can not be given especially when the owners
are busy in their own schedules.
Care
The long white coat is easy to care. Rule
out the external parasites like lice, ticks and fleas. The
dog needs long walk or jog daily.
The dog is to be dewormed regularly like
any other dogs and the coat needs regular grooming. When any
injury occurs during the exercise or training activities,
these have to be attended immediately and if not, infections
may set in.
Training
The systematic training if given to this
breed of dog, the dog will behave well to the owner and all
of us like the activities. The dog needs to be trained from
the younger age itself.
Activity
Porcelaine dogs have high
level of activity and the activity patterns of this dog are
appreciable. These Porcelaine dogs are gentle
though seems to be very active.
