"A tired Pit Bull is a good Pit Bull"- a worth saying is perfectly fit for the pit bulls. Acquiring a dog either from kennels or from rescue organizations is not a difficult task, but training the pit bull with suitable techniques will definitely bring you a good pit bull.

Before discussing about the training strategies to be adopted for your pit bull, it is better enough for us to discuss on what is the major mistake most of the owners are performing while giving training to their pit bulls.

While giving training most of the owners are not aware when to move to the new training tip. It is always advisable to stick to a specific training tip for a week or two, if the training tip is going to work or not. Move on to the next tip after two weeks irrespective of the results you have achieved on that tip.

Train your pit bull puppies gently by keeping in mind that puppies are like children. They will learn things readily and also understand quickly what you are trying to teach them.

Initial training should be started at the age of 8 weeks. Commands such as “come” and “sit” should be started at the age of 12 weeks. The intensive training should be started at the age of 5to 6 months.

It is good enough to fix a good trainer for your Pit Bull rather than giving training by you. You can easily find the dog trainer by browsing different websites promoted by the dog trainers.

Another important aspect you should know about your pit bulls is how to stop excess barking. Excess barking is a mode of expression of a stress and also your Pit Bull may get bored with the same environment. So ample exercise should be given to your Pit Bull for preventing excessive barking.

In general Pit bulls are attention nuts. Hence they will try to draw your attention. Please respond to their call and offer them a very small amount of praise.

Sometimes the rattles also proved to be better enough to control barking. Putting some coins in an empty soda can or bottle can produce rattle sound. Once your dog started barking, make rattling sound. Immediately your pit bull may become quite and calm for a prolonged period.
