The weight of DP is about 30 to 40 kg.

The height of these dogs varies from 61 to 71 cms. Bitches have less height when compared to the male dogs.

Coat

The coat has short hair materials almost adhering to the body regions. The coat needs lesser grooming when compared to the breeds like Pomeranian or Poodle.

Overview

This dog was developed in Germany in 1860s and the name was because of the Louis Dobermann who traveled frequently through areas overcrowded with bandits significantly. He was the person who developed this breed with effective crossing of pinschers, Greyhounds, Rottweilers, Beauceron and English greyhound.

Character

Their active characters are highly preferred by the dog owners. However, one can not predict when it may bite especially the case with untrained DP. Due to their defending activities, these dogs are very much liked by their owners.

The dog may look so silent but are aggressive against the intruders but are sensitive to the cold climates to a greater extent.

Temperament

These dogs are alert always and are often assertive and have no fear at all. The courage is highly appreciable and has very obedient temperament when offered a systematic training by a good trainer.

Care

These dogs are to be cared for the skin-disorders. Particularly, when patchy distribution of hair loss is noticed, think about the fungal infection and consult the veterinarian immediately to prevent the further spread.

These dogs are also prone for the development of congenital heart disorders and hence, one has to take care of all these problems.

Since these dogs may become obese especially in their middle age, one has to be careful in offering adequate exercise to them from the beginning.

Training

Needs training in a systematic manner. The trained dog behaves well to the satisfaction of the owner and particularly, these dogs are used as watch dogs or dogs that can safeguard anything subsequent to the proper command by the owner.

Activity

Because of their intelligent activities, the Doberman Pinscher dog is often used in military both as watch dogs as well as guard dogs. Doberman Pinscher is famous for their agile nature. They are very energetic in each and every activity.
