Complete blood count values

Red blood cells

Responsible for carrying oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the body. Iron deficiency will lower RBC count.

Hematocrit or packed cell volume
Provide information on the amount of red blood cells present in the blood.

Hemoglobin (Hb)
The essential oxygen carrier of the blood.

Reticulocytes
They are immature red blood cells.

Platelets
Play important role in blood clotting.

MCV
Measurement of the average size of the red blood cells.

White blood cells
The body's primary means of fighting infection.

Neutrophils
When first released from the marrow neutrophils are band and after spending some time in the circulating blood they mature in to segmented.

Eosinophils
Eosinophils are normally seen in fewer numbers than neutrophils. They are also produced in the bone marrow and have the ability to eat up or engulf foreign particles I into their bodies.

Basophils
There are the least common of all the WBC's.In many samples, none are present.

Lymphocytes
They are formed and released from lymphoid tissue such as lymph nodes, spleen, etc.,

Monocytes
Monocytes are developed and are stored in the spleen and bone marrow.
