Temperament
These dogs are loyal and also equally affectionate

Care
The coat needs to be taken special care because
the hair materials and coat are likely to be affected by vitamin
deficiencies and by external parasitic infestations associating
with lice, ticks, fleas etc.
Hence, proper caring by means of grooming has to be carried
out periodically. Hence, hair loss can be minimized.
The dead hair materials or the loose hair materials may be
removed gently using a soft ended brush without much damage
to the hair follicular structures of the skin.
Special grooming tools are highly required for this dog and
the grooming activities with such special tools need to be
carried out with due care.
Training
These dogs need at least thirty minutes of
walking to keep fitness. Training should be given carefully
in this dog without causing injuries to skin and body.
Obedience can not be guaranteed one in this breed of dog
if the dog is not subjected to the regular training techniques.
The lengthy hair materials have to be suitably protected
during the offering of training activities to this dog.
Activity
Watering activity should go without any problem
and this is possible only by providing adequate water which
is available at all times. If not, these animals may have
dehydration, hyperthermic problem etc.
High level of activity is noticed with Afghan Hound.
Similarly,well fenced area is a must for Afghan Hound
and the activities of the dog get along well in such
a fenced area.
